Tribute for Jamarion Brown:

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Jamarion “Jo” Brown, a beloved son, teammate, and friend, who tragically passed away at a young age. A standout basketball player from Mount Pleasant, Texas, Jo was more than an athlete—he was the soul of every team he played for and a light to everyone who knew him.

Jo’s love for the game of basketball was matched only by his passion for life and the people around him. As a player for Henderson State University, he brought unmatched energy, drive, and leadership to the court. Wearing #14, Jo became a symbol of hard work, heart, and humility. He was a coach’s dream—focused, determined, and always ready to lift up his teammates both on and off the court.

Beyond his talent, what made Jo truly special was his radiant spirit. Known for his infectious smile, kind heart, and ability to make everyone feel seen and valued, Jo left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a gift for connecting with others and making them feel important—whether a teammate, classmate, or fan in the stands.

Jo’s sudden passing has left an irreplaceable void in the Henderson State University family and his hometown community of Mount Pleasant. His legacy, however, lives on in the countless lives he touched through his compassion, determination, and the pure joy he brought to every room he entered.

Our hearts go out to Jo’s family, friends, coaches, teammates, and everyone grieving this unimaginable loss. While his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will be felt forever. Rest in peace, Jamarion Brown. Thank you for the joy, love, and memories. You will never be forgotten, and #14 will always hold a special place in our hearts.
