Tribute for Tye Beaucamp:
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Tye Beauchamp, who died at the age of 42 in San Juan del Sur. A vibrant soul, a loyal friend, and a man with a heart as expansive as the oceans he loved, Tye’s death leaves a deep ache in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born with a spirit of adventure and compassion, Tye touched lives wherever he went. Whether in Toronto, where he began his journey in recovery, or in Nicaragua, where he found peace and beauty in the coastal rhythms of San Juan del Sur, Tye was a beacon of connection. He was the kind of person who made friends easily—genuinely curious about others, always open, always welcoming.
Many knew Tye through the shared path of recovery, where he showed up with honesty, vulnerability, and an unshakeable belief in second chances. While addiction once separated friends, Tye’s capacity for growth and forgiveness helped rekindle bonds and bring healing in the most profound way. Just a few months ago, he shared laughter and love with those he once drifted from—proof of his incredible emotional generosity.
Tye would go miles—literally and figuratively—for the people he loved. He believed in showing up, in small kindnesses and big gestures alike. His presence was magnetic: full of stories, mischief, insight, and warmth. A photographer captured him best with friends, laughter in his eyes, love in his expression. That’s how he’ll be remembered.
To say he’ll be missed is an understatement. Tye leaves behind a circle of friends, family, and fellow travelers whose lives are forever better for having known him. In his memory, may we be reminded to check on our loved ones, to forgive freely, and to live as boldly and kindly as he did. Rest in peace, Tye. You were one of a kind.
