For Ashley Graybill:

With heavy hearts, the community of Roanoke, Virginia, mourns the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Ashley Graybill, a cherished preschool teacher at North Valley Montessori School (NVMS). Ashley passed away unexpectedly on the morning of May 19, 2025, leaving behind a profound legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the children and families she served.

Ashley was far more than an educator—she was a gentle guide, a nurturer, and a beacon of patience and kindness. Her warm smile, calming presence, and deep respect for every child who walked through her classroom doors touched countless lives. At NVMS, she wasn’t just a teacher—she was part of the heartbeat of the school, someone who inspired her students and colleagues alike every single day.

Through her years at North Valley Montessori, Ashley helped shape the minds and hearts of young learners with grace and empathy. Her approach to early childhood education reflected her core values: kindness, understanding, and the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and loved.

The Roanoke community now feels the deep absence of her spirit. Parents, fellow educators, and students are united in grief, remembering the little moments that made Ashley special—her quiet encouragement, her gentle laugh, and the way she could make every child feel like the most important person in the world. In the wake of this tragedy, a Gofundme has been established to assist Ashley’s family with funeral expenses and to honor her life’s work. The support from the community so far is a testament to the lives Ashley touched and the legacy she leaves behind.

To those wishing to contribute, please consider donating and sharing the fundraiser. Every gift is a step toward helping her family through this painful time. Rest peacefully, Ashley Graybill. You gave so much of your heart to this world, and your light will never be forgotten. You will forever remain in the hearts of your students, colleagues, and the entire Roanoke community.
